Ask anyone in the watersports industry, wakesurfing is the hottest thing going right now! Wakesurfing’s success is largely due to three main reasons. #1: Wakesurfing is still fun in rougher water conditions. #2: Falling on a wakesurfer is usually less intimidating due to lower tow speeds REASON #3: It’s really fun and unlike any other water sport!
Back in 2009 our friends at MasterCraft took a look at the growth of wakesurfing and looked for ways to make it even easier. The innovative new Surf Tabs feature was introduced for the 2010 model year. A revolutionary new design from MasterCraft that was a first in the industry to control the shape of the wave with the flip of a switch. Surf Tabs allow the deployment of a trim tab on the right or left side of the boat transom to sculpt a surf wake for wakesurfing. Since Surf Tabs were original released in 2008 there have been some imitations throughout the industry. However, MasterCraft’s Surf Tabs are still the only system to win “Innovation of the Year” from the NMMA as well as the only system that reduces fuel consumption by also utilizing the tabs to accellerate to plane.
Surf Tabs are optional almost all new MasterCraft boats and are a highly requested feature on most of the boats customers are ordering from us. See the video below for an explanation of the innovative MasterCraft Surf Tab system.
